Philosophy

The XA Way.

Twenty years in this industry taught us what works and what doesn’t. Here’s how we think about security — and why it’s different from most companies doing this work.

01

Plan. Adapt. Smile.

That's the job description. Every XA guard knows three things matter most: show up prepared, adjust when things change, and make everyone around you feel like it's all under control — because it is. We hire people who are naturally calm under pressure, then we train them to stay that way.

02

De-escalation is the skill.

Most security companies measure success by removals and incidents. We measure it the other way: how many situations never became incidents? Our guards are trained in de-escalation before they're trained in anything else. A situation defused is better than a situation handled.

03

Familiarity is a tool.

We don't rotate strangers through your site. We assign consistent teams, build routines, and give guards time to learn the spaces they work. The security guard who knows your building — the exits, the regulars, the rhythms — is dramatically more effective than one who's seeing it for the first time.

04

Communication up and down.

Our supervisors talk to clients. Our guards talk to supervisors. Issues surface fast and get resolved fast. You won't find out about a problem at your site from someone other than us.

05

We show up.

This one sounds obvious. It isn't. The security industry has a reliability problem. We've built scheduling, supervision, and accountability systems specifically to make sure the right people are at the right sites at the right time — every time. We've been doing it since 2004.

Founded in Calgary.
Still here.

XA Security was founded in 2004 and has been operating continuously in Calgary ever since. We’ve never been acquired, never been a franchise, and never lost sight of what this work is actually about.

Our clients at Rogers Place, the Calgary Stampede, River Cree, and Grey Eagle have worked with us for years — some over a decade. That doesn’t happen by accident.

See it in practice.

The best way to understand how we work is to have a conversation. No pitch, no pressure.
